As a good student, you are always trying to find new ideas to make your target language progress. Sometimes we tend to forget the daily base task that we do regularly. Truth is, you can find in those tasks powerful tools to use and practice your new language. Here you have 5 new simple, daily based, and effective ideas to boost your Spanish

1-Write your grocery list in Spanish

Getting into a habit is often key to learning a language, and if there’s one thing we all do very regularly, it’s going shopping for groceries. Make a list even if you are not a list maker. Instead of mindlessly wandering the aisles, make a dedicated list of the foods you plan to buy before you go. Practice while you’re in the store by checking off items when you put them in your cart. Even better, try shopping down the world food aisle to see if you can find the products sold in their native packaging.

Grocery lists are an excellent way to boost food vocabulary but there’s no need to stop there. From to-do lists to your daily planner, try to get into the habit of writing them all in Spanish.

2-Write a Spanish journal every day

There’s a lot of language learning value to be had in keeping a diary. First, you’re writing daily. But beyond that, you’re learning to write Spanish in your own personal style—something you don’t do when the textbook tells you to write a letter to your friend describing your house.

Start with a couple of sentences describing your day. Progress to describing people you meet, plans, and feelings.

There is another extra value in writing a journal, and it is when you read it in the future. It is of course a reading practice, and you will smile for sure.

3-Take quizzes in Spanish

You can find a lot of options online. Almost every Spanish school has its own version. You can find quiz options according to your level in our page spanishperfecto.com. Take advantage of online free versions and test your learning. You will ask yourself questions to solve grammar structure.

Other popular and amazing options: Spanish Programs here you can find free quizzes that are structured by subjects, Study Spanish is an option for more formal testing and Spanish Central is a  vocabulary tester with many quiz versions.

4-Play games: Scrabble, Bingo in Spanish.

This is a fun part of our activities in Spanish Perfecto and an amazing and relaxing way to learn. Bringing Spanish into your everyday world with fun games is a great way to test your Spanish, particularly when you’re under time pressure.

5-Join a language exchange group.

Having the confidence to speak can be one of the hardest parts of Spanish for many new language learners. However, no matter how much you want to escape, you must do it. Start trying to order food, ask for groceries, and get some in-person practice with native speakers at a language exchange. You cannot move to Spain? Then look for Spanish conversational groups in your area. Most people are trying to achieve the same goal in their native language. And you will find different subjects that you are interested in. Language exchanges in person bring you closer to the experience of living in a Spanish-speaking country.

You find amazing activities in our school spanishperfecto.com for you to practice while learning Spanish. We have in-person meetings in Houston, TX, and online classes all over the world: conversation club, drama club, dance club; same as our immersion courses: theater, cooking, and music. These activities go further than learning a language, you will acquire confidence and maturity in your process. Choose and enjoy your hobby and learn Spanish at the same time. Also, don’t forget to check out Meetup to see if there’s one being hosted near you and go for it.

6-Change the language on all your devices to Spanish

Immersion is thought to be one of the most effective ways of enhancing your language learning. You have other ways of immersing yourself in the Spanish language. And if you’re like most people, the amount of time you spend online means that changing your computer settings to Spanish is a pretty good start. Change the language across all your devices to ensure no cheating. Do it for a week and see the difference.

Social media? Try it in Spanish! You have several options: Twitter, Instagram, Meta.

We hope our tricks contribute to your learning. Try to practice all these ideas, make them your daily tasks, and you will notice the difference, especially in your oral comprehension and speaking fluency.
